Support Program helps families reach loved ones
overseas
Lawton-
The Oklahoma Home and
Community Education (OHCE) organization is pleased to announce
the official kick off of their state-wide project, "Just Let
Them Know We Care." The exciting OHCE affiliated program
coordinates personal contact, packages and letters for overseas
military personnel in an effort to provide comfort,
encouragement and aid while they are away from their families.
The packages will meet their tangible needs with such items
as DVDs, snacks, personal items, playing cards, phone cards and
letters of encouragement, while simultaneously providing their
loved ones with peace of mind.
"We began the program earlier
this year," said Debra
Stevenson, Support Project Chairman. "We are creating
awareness to everyone in our community who would like our
organization's outreach to contact their loved ones while they
are out of the country. We encourage interested parties to
contact their local OSU Extension Office, who will in turn put
them in contact with their local OHCE representatives who
will coordinate their care package and letters. We sincerely
hope that this program offers much comfort to both the military
personnel abroad, and to their families anxiously awaiting their
return to the United States," said Stevenson.
Contact your
local OSU Extension Office today, and visit the OHCE website at

about the "Just Let Them Know We Care" program.
